2

Multiplying fractions is relatively easy.

You just multiply the numerators and the denominator by each other. If you can, you can pre-reduce and cancel out a numerator with a denominator.

*DO NOT cancel a numerator with a numerator or a denominator with a denominator!*

3

Let's do some examples.

1.) 1/5 * 5/3

Explanation: We can cancel out the two fives, because they are in opposite positions.

We are then left with a 1 in the numerator and a 3 in the denominator.

It becomes 1/3.

2.) 3/6 * 5/10

Explanation: We can reduce the 3/6 into 1/2, and 5/10 into another 1/2.

Now, we have: 1/2 * 1/2

And we get 1/4 as our answer.
