This is more practice with word problems; I know.

We will do JUST addition OR subtraction today.

In word problems, there are key words to help you figure out what you need to do to solve the problem.

Teacher Example #1

Key words: In addition, in total

Problem: 9,483 + 3,214 = 12,697

Key words: If

Hmm. What do I know? It mentions part-time employees, total employees, and full-time employees. It's asking how many full-time employees work here.

My problem is: 5,178 - 294 = 4,884
