How to count $20 Bills

Step 1 skip count by 20, add the $20 bills together, or multiply 20 by the number of bills. For this lesson, we're going to skip count by 20.

3

First let's look at a skip counting chart

Notice that the chart has 5 boxes. Each box is equal to that number of $20 bills. Therefore, for 3 $20 bills you would count 3 spaces and see that box 3 has 60 so 3 $20 bills=$60

media

4

1 $20 bill is $20

The skip count chart shows 20 in the first box so 1 $20 bill is $20

media

5

So looking at the skip count chart

  • 1, $20= $20 because it is in the 1st box

  • 2, $20= $40 because it is in the 2nd box

  • 3, $20= $60 because it is in the 3rd box

  • 4, $20= $80 because it is in the 4th box

  • 5, $20= $100 because it is in the 5th box

6

1 $20 bill

$20=$20

media

7

2 $20 Bills

$20 + $20 or $20 x 2= $40

media

8

3 $20 Bills

$20 + $20 + $20 or $20 x 3= $60

media

9

4 $20 Bills

$20 + $20 + $20 + $20 or $20 x 4= $80

media

10

5 $20 Bills

$20 + $20 + $20 + $20 + $20 or $20 x 5= $100
