Los Mandatos con Objetos

We've been learning how to form both affirmative and negative commands for different YOUs
affirmative tú - use él/ella/Ud. unless it's a VenDiSal verb
affirmative Ud./Uds. - go to YO, drop the "o", add the opposite unless it's dar, estar, ir, saber, ser or -car-gar-zar
negative tú/Ud./Uds. - go to YO, drop the "o", add the opposite unless it's dar, estar, ir, saber, ser or -car-gar-zar

Let's review with a few questions of those command forms

Hoy, miramos estos mandatos con objetos. ¿Dónde vamos a ponerlos?
18
Let's start with reflexive verbs and what to do with the reflexive pronoun
19
We know for an affirmative tú reflexive, we still use the él/ella/Ud. form, but since I’m commanding tú to do something, we put the te at the end.
Lávate las manos
Cepíllate los dientes
accent on the second to last syllable of the original command
20
So if I am commanding (or asking) Ud. or Uds. to do something, I follow the “go to YO” rule, but then attach “se” at the end as “se” is the reflexive pronoun you would use for Ud. or Uds.
21
Keep in mind, a command can be a polite request, so, for example, if you were a home health aide working with an elderly patient and you needed to ask them to brush their hair, you wouldn't use the informal “Cepíllate el pelo”, you would use “Cepíllese el pelo”
22
For affirmative commands with a DOP or IOP, you still use the regular command rule and then attach the pronoun at the end, just as we have practiced
and still use the accent on the second to last syllable
23
Let's look at the command - Make them (when them refers to las camas)
For tú - it would be Hazlas (tú command HAZ + las)
For Ud. - it would be Hágalas (Ud. command HAGA + las)
For Uds. - it would be Háganlas (Uds. command HAGAN + las)
24
Next, let's look at an IOP command :
Tell me
tú - Dime
Ud. - Dígame
Uds. - Díganme
25
And one more using a more regular verb
Clean it (when it is the house)
tú - Limpíala
Ud. Limpíela
Uds. - Limpíenla
26
In summary, an affirmative command will have its pronouns/objects after and attached - the AAA rule
27
In contrast, a negative command will have its objects and pronouns come before the command
28
Don't put them there (them = your shoes)
TÚ- No los pongas allí
UD - No los ponga allí
UDS - No los pongan allí
29
Don't go to bed late (acostarse)
TÚ - No te acuestes tarde
UD - No se acueste tarde
UDS - No se acuesten tarde
30
Let's try some of those
Remember - follow the command formation rules and then remember the AAA rule
