In this activity, you'll be interacting with Jesus' blessings (happy things) and woes (sad things). And you'll compare them to what society says are things that make people happy and sad.

First, let's consult the text of Luke 6.
These are the blessings (the things that make people happy.
Blessed (happy) are you who are poor
Blessed (happy) are you who are now hungry
Blessed (happy) are you who are now weeping
Blessed (happy) are you when people hate you

These are the woes (the things that make people unhappy).
woe to (sad are) you who are rich
woe to (sad are) you who are filled now
Woe to (sad are) you who laugh now
Woe to (sad are) you when all speak well of you

These things are the opposite of what society would say.
On the next slides, identify what society would say makes people happy (blessed).
Put the list in the order of things that you find in Luke.
