Adjectives

  • We use adjectives to describe things, people and places.

  • Examples:

    sad, funny, tall, big, fast, slow, warm, nice, good, green, blue, etc.

  • "Our new neighbor Adam is a tall, nice person."

  • "The dark sky is beautiful and full of shiny stars."

Adverbs

  • Adverbs describe, how something happens or how somebody does something. They always refer to a verb.

  • Regular adverbs are formed with the ending "-ly"

  • Examples:

    quickly, slowly, nicely, carefully, surely

  • "Come here quickly! You can surely help."

  • "You did a good job. Nicely done!"
