The Locative Case

  • Cities, towns, small islands and select nouns (rus, domus, etc.) use the locative to show placement, without a preposition

  • Places that are not cities, towns, small islands, or select nouns use the ablative to show placement, with a preposition

  • When showing motion towards a location, the same rules apply, only instead of using the locative/no preposition or ablative/with preposition, the accusative case is used.
