Intro - El Infinitivo

​Before you learn how to conjugate verbs in Spanish, we need to understand what an infinitive verb is. An infinitive verb is the basic form of a verb.

​In English, the infinitive has to the word "to" in front of it.

In Spanish, the infinitive can end in either "-ar" , "-er" or "-ir"

How to Conjugate

In Spanish, the present tense is formed by changing the ending of the verb.

​Do not forget...

In Spanish:

​-each conjugation has a specific translation

(ella cannot go with hablar, or hablo because they mean very different things)

​-not conjugating verbs when you should results in an awkward phrase

​Yo hablar = I to talk

yeah, it isn't completely correct

-Accent marks matter. Do not forget them on the word "tú" and the conjugation endings for vosotros "áis" / "éis" / "ís".
