AND ( VE ) :

• Genellikle ardı ardına gerçekleşen olayları ifade ederken kullanılır.

•  I get up 7 and  wash my face every morning.

  
  

• Aynı fikirleri birleştirmek ve cümleye yeni bir fikir eklemek için kullanırız.

• He is tall and slim.

• He can dance and he can sing very well.

Examples:

• My mother and father are teachers.

• My shoes are green and my shirt is black.

• I want chocolate and ice cream.

• He plays football and voleyball.

But ( ama/ fakat ) :

• Bir olumlu ve bir olumsuz cümlenin birbiri ile bağlanması ile gerçekleşir.

• I love the sea, but  I can’t swim.

• Ali don’t earn much money but he likes his job. 

• "But" zıt fikirleri birleştirir.

• She can read but can't write in English.

Examples:

* I want to travel to İstanbul by plane but I’m afraid of height.

* Carol studied hard for the maths but she couldn't get a good mark.
