His biography should not just be about his invention, it should also show his life, his education and such.

Early life

• Born on March 3, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland

• He was homeschooled

• He didn't go to school until highschool

He was interested in the science of sound! WHY?

Because both his mother and wife were deaf.

• was the first person to patent the idea in 1876

He formed his own telephone company in 1877

This company went through name changes and is now know as AT&T which is now a multi billion dollar company.

He was known for other invents like:

• Made devices that finds icebergs

• invented ways to help teach speech for deaf people.

Upon his death in 1922, every phone in North America was silenced for a short period to honor him.
