Amazon wildlife

The Amazon River's basin is home to the world's largest rainforest. It covers over 2.3 million square miles (about 5.96 million square km), and is in nine countries. A rainforest is an area of woodland that gets at least 100 inches (254 cm) of rain per year. In an average year, the Amazon rainforest gets 120 inches (305 cm) of rainfall. Its average daytime temperature is 80 degrees Fahrenheit (29.4o C).

The tallest trees form a canopy, blocking out much of the sunlight. Several plant species in the forest have been discovered to have healing properties.

There is a vast variety of wildlife in the Amazon rainforest. It is home to the largest diversity of plant and animal species in the world. In fact, one in ten known species lives in the Amazon rainforest. Among the animals, there are many richly colored frogs (many of which are poisonous); brightly colored birds such as the toucan; predatory cats such as the jaguar; and several species of monkeys, snakes, small deer, and rodents

The Amazon River and its tributaries are home to many types of freshwater fish. The insect population of the Amazon rainforest is the most diverse in the world. Countless types of trees and plants, too, live in the forest.

Since the 1960s, many organizations have worked to keep the rain forest from being destroyed by farming, ranching, and logging.

  • Create a visual display that persuades viewers to protect the rain forest.

  • It must include both text and images and should inform viewers by providing several interesting rain forest facts and statistics.

  • You can create a catchy slogan to summarize their message about rain forest conservation
