What could the evidence of the pervious claim be? (Students who get less sleep are more likely to perform poorly in academics.) Select up to two
According to the study, students who went to sleep later, causing them to get less sleep, scored an average of 30% lower on their exams.
The article said so, plus I agree.
Students reported feeling more sluggish over all, making it hard to focus and do well on their exams.
According the the article, the kids were sleepy. When I am sleepy, I also do poorly on my assignments.

Multiple Choice
Which reasoning explains the following evidence? "According to the data, a plant grown in a 5 cm pot only grew to be 4 cm tall, where as a plant in a 10cm pot grow to be 8 cm tall."
When plants are placed in a bigger pot, the roots have more room to spread out, making it more optimal for a plant to grow taller.
Sometimes, plants just enjoy being in a bigger pot.
No one really knows why, it just happened.
And that is my evidence, thank you.
23
Reasoning
Your reasoning should explain how the evidence supports your claim
Also should explain the scientific phenomena being observed in your experiment
24
Multiple Choice
Which of these is relevant evidence to this claim: Plants in bigger pots will grow taller.
My family has a computer at home.
Some plants grow taller than others.
According to the data, a plant grown in a 5 cm pot only grew to be 4 cm tall, where as a plant in a 10cm pot grow to be 8 cm tall.
We observed 10 plants total.
25
EVIDENCE
In a scientific CER, you evidence should include some kind of data to back your claim
Data can be quantitative or qualitative
Quantitative= numbers, percentages, etc
Qualitative= evidence observed (hair color, ethnic group, etc)
26
Multiple Select
What is an example to a scientific claim that can be proven with evidence?
Basketballs will bounce higher when filled with more air.
I think Lil Yachty is the greatest rapper alive.
Plants with bigger pots will grow taller.
Onions smell really bad.
27
CLAIM
This should be a sentence/statement
In science, this should be based off of evidence, not an opinion. (However it is possible to make a claim based off your opinion in a subject like History or ELA)
Should be the answer to a question
28
What is a CER?
In science we still practice the skill of writing (gasp!) When writing in science, we will typically use something called a CER. This stands for Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning.
