  • more or less the same as last year format

  • contains 10 questions (Qs 9 to 18)

  • test your Grammar and Vocabulary

  • choose the best answer A,B,C or D

Before you answer the questions:

  • Tense - Present Tense or Past Tense?

  • Singular or Plural? (Singular - verb(s), Plural - verb)

  • is, are, was, were + ing

  • has, have, had + Past Participle(-en or -ed or irregular form)

  • Pronouns (he, she, it, I, my, me, mine, themselves, ours, etc)

Before you answer the questions(cont):

  • Preposition - in, at, on, between, aside, among, etc

  • Conjunctions - and, but, or, for, because, since, although, etc

  • linkers/connectors - Hence, Therefore, However, Nevertheless, etc

  • articles - a, an, the, -

  • After modal verb (can, could, may, might, shall, should, ought to, etc), always root word (kata dasar)

  • Vocabularies

For this type of question

  • You have to be familiar with all the grammar learnt especially tenses.

  • You have to understand and learn more new words because there are a few questions for vocabularies. Reread the sentences for better understanding.

  • First thing to do is decide whether the text is in Present Tense or Past Tense form.

  • Always look for the clue/keywords after or before the answer.

  • For eg: She wants to ____a new bag. (the clue is before the answer, 'to', meaning the answer must be in root word form only.
