Have you ever heard of the future perfect continuous tense?

Would you like to guess what its use is?

3

What is the future perfect continuous?

  • It's a tense used for talking about actions that will continue to happen until a certain point in the future.

  • This May, Mimi will have been visiting us for 3 years.

  • By the end of this year, I will have been teaching English for 6 years.

  • At 5 o'clock, he will have been waiting for 30 minutes.

4

How do we use the future perfect continuous?

  • Like this:

  • subject + will have been + verb-ing (present participle)

  • In November + subject + will have been + work (verb-ing) + at my company for three years.

  • In November, I will have been working at my company for three years.

  • Notice that the time indicator (In November...) almost always start future perfect continuous sentences.
