General Rule

In general we just add -ING to the end of the verb.

Eat : Eating

Go: Going

Read: Reading

Verbs ending in W, X or Y

Add ING

Snow: Snowing

Fix: Fixing

Play: Playing

Verbs ending in IE

Remove IE and ADD -YING

Die: Dying

Lie: Lying

CONSONANT + VOWEL + CONSONANT

We double the last consonant and add ING

Cut: Cuting

Run: Runing

Stop: Stoping

CONSONANT + VOWEL +LETTER L

Hay dos opciones:

Doblar la consonante L y agregar ING:

Travel: Travelling

Únicamente agregar el ING

Traveling

Last Syllable is NOT stressed

Ultima Silaba SIN acento

Add ING

Happen: Happening

Open: Opening

Vistit: Visiting

Last Syllable IS stressed

Ultima Silaba CON acento

Double the last consonant and Add ING
