Adverbs of Time

  • Adverbs of time tell us when something happened or will happen. They are usually placed at the end of a sentence.

  • Examples of adverbs of time: on Friday, this summer, yesterday, now, tomorrow, tonight, this weekend, today, later, during lunch.

  • Adverbs of time can also be placed at the beginning of a sentence to mark the importance of the time. Remember to add a comma after the adverb of time when you place it at the beginning of a sentence.

  • Examples:

  • Later, I will do my homework.

  • Tomorrow, we will go on a field trip.

  • Remember that irregular verbs do not follow any rules in the past tense, so you have to memorize them.
