  • You use "ser" for things that are permanent situations.

  • Examples: ethnicity, gender, identity, occupation, and where you are from

  • Yo soy de California (I am from California)

  • eres una maestra (You are a teacher)

  • When you are using the verb phrase "me gusta" there are many phrases that you can add:

  • More: Más

  • A lot: Mucho

  • Funny: Divertido/Divertida

  • Also: También

Writing with verbs

  • As you know, each sentence must have a subject, verb, complete thought.

  • Its the same in Spanish, except for one rule:

  • If you have two verbs next to each other, you conjugate the first one and leave the second alone.

  • Subject + Verb + Complete thought

  • Example: I want to go to your house.

  • to want: querer

  • to go: ir

  • Yo quiero ir a tu casa.

Writing with verbs

  • Yo quiero ir a tu casa.

  • I conjugated the verb "querer" to "quiero" and then you leave the second verb, "ir", alone.
