​Personal Computer PC

​A personal computer is a general-purpose computer whose size, capabilities and original sale price make it useful for individuals, and is intended to be operated directly by an end-user with no intervening computer operator.

​Workstation Computer

​Workstation, a high-performance computer system that is basically designed for a single user and has advanced graphics capabilities, large storage capacity, and a powerful central processing unit.

​Used for engineering applications (CAD/CAM), desktop publishing, software development and etc..

Minicomputer

A minicomputer is a type of computer that possesses most of the features and capabilities of a large computer but is smaller in physical size.

Minicomputer has diminished and has merged with servers. ​

​

​A minicomputer may also be called a mid-range computer.

​

Mainframe

Mainframe is very large in size and is an expensive computer capable of supporting hundreds

or even thousands of users simultaneously. Mainframe executes many programs concurrently and

supports many simultaneous executions of programs.

Super Computer

Supercomputers are one of the fastest computers currently available. Supercomputers are very

expensive and are employed for specialized applications that require immense amount of

mathematical calculations (number crunching).
