​The Third Voice!

• ​The Distracting Voice is red in the traffic light

  • ​Either you are thinking about the text (Thinking Voice) or you are thinking about something else (Distracting Voice)

• ​Distractions include:

  • ​Daydreaming about something that happened earlier or something that might happen

  • ​Noticing something in the room

  • ​Turning a good thought by the Thinking Voice into a distraction

​3 Steps

• ​You can mute the Distracting Voice:

  • ​1. STOP!

    • ​Stop reading; don't let the Distracting Voice continue

  • ​2. GO BACK

    • ​Look for the last part you recognize in the text

  • ​3. RE-READ

    • ​Resume reading with your Reading and Thinking Voices
