Definition of Sequence​

• ​A sequence is a set of numbers in a given order, like

• Each of these numbers is called a term of the sequence

• A general sequence might be written as u₁, u₂, u₃, …,

    with general term u_k.

• When the terms of a sequence are added together, the sum is called a series

​Finite and infinite sequence/series

• ​A sequence may have an infinite number of terms, in which case it is called an infinite sequence. The corresponding series is called an infinite series.
