Introduction to reported speech

Reported Speech (also called Indirect Speech) is used to communicate what someone else said, but without using the exact words. When what a person says is reported, certain changes have to be made.
“I’m short of money again,” Sally said to me. [DIRECT SPEECH]
Sally told me that she was short of money again. [INDIRECT SPEECH]
