WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?

28

7,864

  • - The last two digits is divisible by 4

  • - The last 2 digits are zeros

The divisibility rule for 4 says that a number is divisible by 4 if:

29

7,864

The last 2 digits of 7,864 is 64, and it is divisible by 4. Therefore, the answer is:

7,864 ÷ 4 = 1,966

30

Can we also divide 7,864 by 8? 11? 12?

media

31

Divisibility Rule for 8

- The last 3 digits is divisible by 8

- The number is ending in three zeros

Example:

9216, 1000, 12000

32

Divisibility Rule for 11

The difference between the sum of the digits in odd places and the sum of the digits in even places in either 0 or number divisible by 11.

Example:

28413 (2 + 4 + 3)

(2+4+3) - (8+1) = 0

33

Divisibility Rule for 12

Any number that is divisible by both 3 and 4

Example:

7980 is divisible by 3 and 4

7980 ÷ 3 = 2660

7980 ÷ 4 = 1995

34

Let us check if 7,864 is divisible by 8.

The last 3 digits "864" is divisible by 8 (864 ÷ 8 = 108), therefore, 7,864 is divisible by 8.

35

Let us check if 7,864 is divisible by 11.

7864

(7 + 6) - (8 + 4) = 1

36

Let us check if 7,864 is divisible by 12.

7864 ÷ 3 = 2621.33 X

7864 ÷ 4 = 1966 /
