what is the present tense in French?

Like in English it is about speaking in the present time. Here are some examples. Je suis étudiant = I am a student. Je suis étudiante = I am a student (feminine). Je danse = I dance & Je chante = I sing. Now how do you know if a verb is being conjugated and/or if it is at the infinitive form? The Infinitive form isn't the same as a conjugation. The infinitive form means the verb is still. For example, an infinitive form of dancing is to dance. An infinitive form of speaking = to speak. Now let's practice with French verbs ending in ER.
