c. in + month : in June, in December

​ in + season : in winter, in spring

​ in + year/decade/century :

​ago means before now.

​We do not use a preposition with Last ... and Yesterday .

​Helen:

​I particularly remember my first day at a secondary school. It's very clear in my memory. I was very nervous in the morning. My friend and I went out of our house because we lived next door to each other and we were walking down the road, it was a Monday morning in September 1990.

My mother came out outside with me and she took out a video camera and filmed me as I walked down the road, and I turned round and waved. I was very nervous but I had a big smile. I got to school and everything was fine, but recently she has shown me the video that she took and it was very embarrassing me.

​Well, one thing I will never forget is the first time I met the woman who became my wife. I was working in a ski resort in Yugoslavia and we had a get together for the staff. I was shy and I didn't like to go up and meet people. It was crowded room and I saw this woman standing on the other side of the room surrounded by a crowd people. I really wanted to go up and speak to her but I just couldn't. I felt strange. I didn't know what to do so I just stood there and then she happened to turn around and so I smiled. That was all I could do and she smiled back. It was happened twelve years ago. Ten years ago we got married.
