  • Sequenced events are expressed in simple tenses. They are linked with First, Second, Third, Then, Later, After that, Finally, etc.

  • Interrupted events are expressed in Past continuous but the interruption is introduced with WHEN + Past simple.

  • Parallel events, or simultaneous events are expressed in continuous tenses. They are linked with AND or WHILE.
