• ​Sequencing

​How to listen for sequencing

1. Identify the components.

2. Arrange the components in the order of:

   1. the topic discussed/mentioned

   2. ​what happened (chronology)

   3. ​the steps to be taken

   4. ​(any other orders as required by the questions)

​Look for:

• ​sequence words/phrases: first, then, initially, until, during, before

• ​information given out of order, e.g. flashback

Put the tasks in order of priority.​

a. Invite people to the meeting.

​b. Reserve a meeting room.

​c. Write a report about a project.

​d. Send an email to the customer.
