Antonyms- Using Prefixes
2
An antonym is a word that is opposite in meaning to another word.
For example admit is the antonym of deny.

3
There are other ways to form Antonyms
Antonyms can also be made by adding prefix to a word. Prefixes are letters which we add to the beginning of a word to make a new word with a different meaning.
4
These prefixes mean NOT
DIS, IN, IL, IR, MIS, RE, UN, IM.
Therefore, if placed before a word form the opposite meaning!
5
Example
agree - opposite would be to not agree
we can add the prefix dis- meaning not
so the antonym will be disagree
agree- disagree
6
Example
behave - opposite would be not behave
we can add the prefix mis- meaning not
so the antonym will be misbehave
behave- misbehave
7
Here are more examples
necessary-Unnecessary
forgivable-Unforgiveable
Mature-Immature
Patient-Impatient
8
Example
legal - opposite would be not legal
we can add the prefix il- meaning not
so the antonym will be illegal
legal- illegal
