What do relative clauses do?
Relative clauses describe the antecedent.
Relative clauses start with the relative pronoun (including any preposition governing the relative pronoun).
They usually end with the first verb following the relative pronoun.
Cornelius quem Anna interfecit Liviae gemmas donaverat.
The clause is quem Anna interfecit.

Relative clauses start with the relative pronoun (including any preposition governing the relative pronoun).

The sentence is translated Cornelius whom Anna killed had given the gems to LIvia.
