​Today we are ONLY going to do 2 types:

​E to IE and E to I Stem changing verbs with meanings-

​Here is an example of one verb-

​empezar- to start/begin

​

​yo- empiezo nosotros- empezamos

​tú- empiezas

​singular- empieza plural- empiezan

​

​* NOTE- It will not stem change in the NOSOTROS!!!

​You will now do these two verbs-

​

​NOTE- do them just like I did on the previous slide.

​Check your answers-

​querer- to want/wish

​yo- quiero nosotros- queremos

​tú-quieres

​singular- quiere plural- quieren

​preferir- to prefer

​yo-prefiero nosotros- preferimos

​tú-prefieres

​singular-prefiere plural- prefieren

​Verbs E to I-

​Pedir- to ask for

​yo-pido nosotros-pedimos

​tú-pides

​singular-pide plural- piden

​

​You will now conjugate and give meaning to-

​REPETIR and DECIR-

​NOTICE THAT THESE TWO VERBS-

​NOTE- in the nosotros DON'T stem change

​Repetir- to repeat

​yo-repito nosotros- repetimos

​tú-repites

​singular-repite plural- repiten

​

​Decir- to say/to tell

​yo-digo nosotros- decimos

​tú-dices

​singular-dice plural- dicen

​

​GUSTAR, ENCANTAR,INTERESAR,ABURRIR:

​Special Note #1- These 4 verbs are only conjugated singular and plural no matter what tense.

​

​Special Note #2- Theses 4 verbs use Indirect Object Pronouns.

​

​So here we go-

​Gustar-to like, Encantar- to love

​Gustar- singular- gusta and plural- gustan

​

​Encantar- singular- encanta and plural- encantan

​

​Interesar- to interest, Aburrir- to bore

​

​Interesar- singular- interesa and plural- interesan

​

​Aburrir- singular- aburre and plural- aburren

​You must put one of these in front of them-

​

​Me(I) Nos(We)

​Te(You)

​Le(He,She,You) Les(They)

​

​Example- I like pizza. Pizza is pleasing to me

​Spanish-Me gusta la pizza.

​Example- I like tacos. The tacos are pleasing to me

​Spanish- Me gustan los tacos.
