Present tenses....
We saw the present tenses, present simple and present continuous, if you remember rightly.....
The present simple is for routines, timetables and basic information.
The present continuous is for things that are happening in the moment.
Simple Continuous
I have a dog I'm walking home
I go to school every Monday She's dancing with him
We eat Italian food we we go out Sofia is shouting at students
History finishes at 10:30 We are listening to history class

Spelling rules....
Normally we put "ing" on the verb to make a continuous tense.....
However, there are some exceptions. (when the verb ends in "e" and when there is a consonant-vowel-consonant ending)

Write --- Writing
Bite --- Biting
Bet --- Betting
Get --- Getting
Forget --- Forgetting

Present perfect
Subject + have/has + past participle
Don't forget...... The present perfect MUST have the past participle
I have eaten dinner today
I haven't seen that movie
Have you tried Indian food?

Present perfect and past simple
The present perfect is used in UNFINISHED time
The past simple is FINISHED time
so....
I have made breakfast today (today hasn't finished)
I made breakfast yesterday (yesterday has finished)
They have seen me before (in their lives, which haven't finished)
They saw me lest week (last week has finished)
