​Main Ideas

  • The Persians took control of Babylon, and many exiled Jews returned to Judah.

  • Under Persian rule, the Jews were not allowed to have their own government leaders, so they looked to their priests and scribes for guidance.

  • The Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings make up the Hebrew Bible.
