Propaganda is a form of advertisement.
The goal of all Propaganda is to sway or persuade a persons opinion.
Propaganda can be very effective and has appeared in varies forms

Wars and Propaganda
During both World War I and World War II Propaganda was everywhere.
Propaganda was posted on street signs, buildings, and in businesses.
In most cases the propaganda was designed to get everyone to help out in the war for their country.

Types of Propaganda
Recruitment - aimed at enlisting men to become soldiers.
Financing - aimed at donating money toward to war.
Nationalism - aimed at increasing loyalty and spying on those who are not.
Conservatism - aimed at saving resources
Homefront - aimed at everyone has a part in the war

Why the need for propaganda?
Many countries had large amounts of immigrants and propaganda was used as a was to spread unity throughout the country.
Neutral countries increased their propaganda posters in order to increase enlistment.
During World War I the United States published more propaganda posters than any other country in the war.
