The west gulf coastal plain

The west gulf coastal plain

A. Stretches across much of Southern Arkansas.

B. Center of the state's timber industry.

C. Also home to Arkansas' oil industry in places like El Dorado and Smackover.

The ouachita mountains

A. Geographically in the Southwest region of the state.

B. Unique because this ridge runs East to West instead of North to South.

C. Heavily wooded with beautiful lakes. ​

The arkansas River Valley

The Arkansas River Valley

A. Formed over many centuries by the Arkansas River.

B. Located between the two mountain ranges in the state.

C. Home to Arkansas' highest peak, Mount Magazine. ​

The ozark mountains

A. Takes up a huge chunk of the land in the north section of the state.

B. Not really mountains, but plateaus, flattened over centuries.

C. Home to many big businesses such as Walmart, Tyson, and JB Hunt. ​

The Mississippi Alluvial Plain, otherwise known as the Mississippi River Delta

A. Runs along the state's Eastern border.

B. Formed as the Mississippi River flooded and ​changed course over long periods of time.

C. ​Known for its rich soil.

D. Because of this, agriculture is vital to the region, and has been for centuries.

A. The smallest of the geographical regions

B. Actually begins in Missouri and runs to ​Helena, Arkansas.

C. Was a target for early settlers to help avoid flooding. ​
