​Moon phase- the shape of the moon that is illuminated by the sun.

New Moon- When none of the moon is illuminated ​

Waxing Crescent Moon- when a small piece of the moon is lit up on the right side

​Waning Crescent Moon- when less than half of the moon is illuminated on the left side.
