Slope Formula:

Get out a piece of scratch paper.

You're going to find the slope!

​You have to replace x, y, and m with their numbers. And then you have to SOLVE the problem.

1. multiply m and x

2. add or subtract the answer from part 1 to/from both sides (inverse operations) to solve for b. ​

Finding the y-intercept (b)

Now that you've found m and b, you just need to replace those variables with their numbers in the equation y = mx + b
