Scare Tactics are a persuasive technique  used some TV commercials to make viewers feel as if their financial security, families, jobs, or lives will be in jeopardy- unless they buy the featured product.

When is a time you have seen this?

13

We will continue using these and will begin some projects later in the unit:

Small projects daily, and larger projects over time

14

At this time, get a blank piece of white paper and create an ad that uses the following:

With a partner, create a new product.  This product can be anything that is not already on the market today.  This product should speak to your interests/hobbies.  Some examples could include the world’s greatest fishing lure or, the best smelling perfume ever.  Consider a completely new invention to market.

  • Each element must use a minimum of two types of propaganda.

  • Your scores will be based on neatness, originality/creativity, correct use of propaganda techniques, and effort. (This means detail and color!)

  • Label what type of propaganda you use and if it appeals to Ethos, Logos, or Pathos

15

When you are done with your ad:

put both names on it...

Make sure you have labelled all things asked for, and turn it in to the box!
