What is a sentence?

Multiple Choice

"Close the door." "Don't laugh." "Slow down." These sentences don't have subjects, but they ARE correct. Why?

• They are exclamations.

Command Sentences

The Subject "You" Is Implied

We know the subject is "you" even though we don't say it.

"You wash your hands before you eat."

"You give me a few more minutes, please."​

"You don't forget to turn off the light in the kitchen."​

Simple Sentences

A simple sentence has 1 subject-verb pair.

There can be more than 1 subject and verb, but they must form only 1 pair.
