Eight-Year-Old Sneaks Home-Made Book
4
A little boy’s handwritten Christmas story has proved a hit after he snuck it onto the shelves of his local library. Before Christmas, eight-year-old Dillon from Boise, USA, thought of a story. Between the red covers of a notebook, he began writing his ideas down. After four days of writing, he’d filled 81 pages with his writing and drawings!
He was so proud of his efforts that he wanted as many people to read it as possible. When his grandmother took him to a local library, he snuck past the librarians and slipped his original, and only, copy onto the shelves.

When he got home, Dillon came clean and told his mum and dad what he’d done. Wanting to get it back, Dillon’s mum phoned the library only to find out that the librarians had found it… and loved it!
The library added it to their system. It meant that people could borrow it from the library. Even the library manager has read it to his child.
Dillon’s ‘Crismis’ story begins with the star atop his Christmas tree exploding. Dillon is then sent back in time to the first Thanksgiving. In the story, he visits the North Pole and Santa even makes an appearance.
The book has been so popular that there is currently a waiting list of over 50 people waiting to borrow it!
