Berbeda dalam hal ruang ,  disebabkan oleh keterbatasan rotasi bebas pada suatu ikatan dalam molekul. dberi istilah cis bila berada satu sisi , trans bila pada sisi berbeda

​ isomer geometri

 senyawa dengan rumus molekul sama namun memiliki bentuk struktur yang berbeda. isomer struktur meliputi tiga jenis isomer yaitu isomer rangka, isomer posisi, dan isomer gugus fungsi.
