 IF + WERE TO

 In formal situations, we can use if + were to when we talk about things that might happen but which we think are unlikely. • If he were to fail his driving test tomorrow, he would have to take it again.

BUT

 I would ............have crashed the car but for ............your warning.  The snow prevented us from arriving on time.

 BEEN 

We would have arrived on time.... had it not been for/ if it had not been for .... the snow.  There is a phone in each room, in case you want to leave earlier. 

SHOULD 

There is a phone in each room should you want to leave/ if you should want to leave earlier.

Simple present + Simple present 1st A possibility and the possible result: Simple present + Simple future 2nd A hypothetical possibility and its possible result : 

Simple past/ Present conditional OR Present continuous conditional 3rd An hypothetical past condition its possible result in the past: Past perfect + Perfect conditional  Conditional Conjunctions : 

As long as / so long as / provided (that) / on (the) condition that / unless / only if / If / in the event of / in case of, etc / WOULD, WERE, IF , BECAUSE, SHOULD.
