Indonesians frequently eat outside the home and hang out with their friends at local eateries. These places to eat can range from stalls on the side of the road to restaurants.

A kaki lima is a small food cart that is on wheels. Food sellers pre-prepare the food they are selling, load it onto their cart and push the cart around, selling their food, or stop on the side of the road. They usually serve 1 dish, and heat up or assemble the dish as each customer orders it.
