Why current weather focust are very reliable.
Tremendous advances in satellite and computer technology (faster calculation speed and more computer “memory”) have led to steady and ongoing improvement in the reliability of weather forecasts.
Today’s computer models, the sophisticated mathematical simulations of the atmosphere, are more accurate than ever. Armed with this guidance, weather forecasters are producing better and better forecasts. In a computer model, the important processes of the weather are built into the model. The model starts with the present weather and tries to simulate how the weather will develop in the future. Today's computer models do a very good job of
The National Weather Service has been verifying forecast accuracy since the 1960s and reports that five-day forecasts now are as reliable as the three-day forecast of the 1980s. Short-range forecasts have improved by a day; that is, the Day 2 forecast of today is as accurate as Day 1 forecasts in the past.

Weather forecasts can be inaccurate due to:
Lack of the ability to collect all weather data variables for the entire region to make a prediction.
Computers calculating millions of weather equations in a short time that humans could not complete.
Meteorology programs in the U.S. are not accredited, or scientific.
Scientists can track the properties of all air molecules globally at any time to predict the weather.
