We gebruiken linking words om ideeën samen te voegen als we praten of schrijven. Soms zijn het tegengestelde ideeën, soms wil je zinnen samen voegen die van elkaar verschillen en soms willen we iets aan elkaar linken wat je niet bij elkaar verwacht.

Although kan vooraan in de zin staan, maar ook midden in de zin.
Je gebruikt het om een tegenstelling aan te geven.
Although the weather is bad, I love London.

However gebruik je ook in een tegenstelling. However kan vooraan, middenin en achterin de zin staan.
Als beide tegenstelling even zwaar in gewicht zijn, gebruik je however.
