What are chemicals?

To the average Joe, chemicals are substances found in nature or made in laboratories​!

Since 2000, there have been ​five new elements added to the periodic table, and over 100 new chemicals derived from those five elements!

These discoveries are found on land, in the sea, or even in space!

How are Chemicals Useful?

Tablets, game systems, and cleaning products all have useful chemicals in them. However, chemicals that have a useful purpose in one context can have a harmful effect in another.​

Using battery acid from a tablet would NOT be useful to clean the counters! ​

Their usefulness all depends on the situation!

​Baking powder is a solid, paint is a liquid, and propane is a gas. What do these all have in common??? They are chemicals!

Chemicals can consist of any form of matter. This includes solids, liquids, gases, and plasma! ​

Yes, I said Plasma!

Every wall has two chemical elements. On our papers, we will be finding 8 different Chemical Elements and labeling their use based on our word bank!
