Abstract

Quiz, Edpuzzle, Zipgrade are some of the tools I have been using for online teaching but also for face-to-face and hybrid models.

The tools mentioned before allow not only remote interaction with students but also more engagement.

For example, the use of Quizziz, allows you to make presentations similar to those made with PowerPoint but also allows you to easily insert questions of different types such as multiple-choice or free-response.

4

Impact of the COVID-19

The pandemic has compelled colleges and universities around the world to go virtual.

Now, the vast majority of classes are at least partially online.

While some students enjoy learning virtually, others have concerns around focus, engagement, and accessibility.

5

Some advantages of Online class

Make learning accessible and flexible to a greater number of potential learners.

These include students with disabilities, geographical restrictions, or prohibitive work schedules.

6

The aim of the following presentation is to share my experiences in online, hybrid, or face-to-face teaching using some of the online tools.

No

What is that?

22

What is a drawing tablet?

A graphics tablet is a computer input device that enables a user to hand-draw images, animations, and graphics, with a special pen-like stylus, similar to the way a person draws images with a pencil and paper.

24

Drawing Tablet

The Drawing Tablet can be integrated with a computer or laptop.

With the help of this interactive teaching tablet; a teacher can write remotely on interactive whiteboards, LED displays, projector screens, etc.

Typically, a teacher can write down a problem using this slate and just pass it on to the student to solve the problem without having the student stand up in front of the class.

25

How do I use the XP-PEN drawing tablet?

  • Annotate during Zoom meeting in any active screen I have.

  • Writing in another student screen while I am on Zoom.

  • Drawing anything using Active Inspire, Microsoft WhiteBoard, Paint, Word, pdf files opened with Microsoft Edge.

  • Signing documents on pdf.

26

27

Uses of the drawing tablet on my class

  • Use Zoom's pen to write on any website.

  • I can use any online whiteboard to write on it: Zoom, Microsoft, BB collaborate.

  • If you are using BB collaborate there are some apps that give you a pencil.

28

Conclusions

I found that still the Hybrid version is the best option, because the online-only don't allow you to address different learning styles, and built a rapport with the students.

You can use the combination of Quizziz and the Drawing tablet not only for online classes but also for a live presentation.

I noticed more engagement during my presentations when I use both combined.

They allow you to share your presentation with the students who are in front of you but also with anyone taking the classes virtually.
