Definition

• Merupakan kalimat majemuk yang berisikan kondisi mengenai sebuah pengandaian, imajinasi, atau suatu kejadian yang belum terjadi.

  ​

• Selalu diawali dengan "IF" sebagai penanda bahwa peristiwa dalam kalimat tersebutbelum terjadi karena masih berandai-andai saja.

  ​

• Rumus: IF + (S + V + O), (S + V + O)​

Kalimat pengandaian yang digunakan ketika hasil atau konsekuensi memiliki kemungkinan untuk terjadi di masa depan.

​

IF + simple present, simple future (can, will, may)​

Type 1

Kalimat pengandaian yang digunakan ketika hasil atau konsekuensi hanya memiliki harapan terwujud walaupun kemungkinannya sangat kecil.

​

IF + simple past/were, would/could/might + infinitife

​

would/could/might berfungsi untuk menjelaskan seberapa besar sebuah kondisi itu akan terjadi.​
