• The first few followers of Jesus spread their teachings of Christianity in the Mediterranean region to the Roman Empire using a network of roads.

• Many Romans tried to stop the spread of Christianity because Christians refused to worship Roman emperors as Gods. Some Christians became martyrs and died fighting for their beliefs.​
