Participles and Participle Phrases

A participle verb form that functions as a noun, adjective, or an adverb. A participle functions as an adjective when it modifies a noun or a pronoun.

Think of it this way: it looks like a verb, but it functions like a different part of speech.

3

Past Participles usually end in “-ed”, but can also end in “-en, -d, -t, -n, or -ne”.

(Asked, eaten, dealt, seen, gone)

Past

A Present Participle will always end in “-ing”.

Think of any verb and imagine you are currently doing that verb.
