Conditional - Revision

By Miss Franz

2

What is the conditional?

The conditional is used to say what might happen under certain conditions.

It is called the conditional because it is dependent on a certain thing happening, e.g. you can do something, if something else happens first

(I would buy a house in Germany, if I had a lot of money)

'Wenn' (if) + conditional

  • ‘Wenn’ is a subordinating conjunction.

  • This means it sends the verb to the end of the clause.

  • When you're using the conditional, you tend to start your sentence with 'wenn'.

  • Don't forget your comma!!
