Summary

Kim's Convenience by Ins Choi, is a play about a family-run Korean-owned convenience store in Toronto's Regent Park neighbourhood. Their family antics end up building a family bond stronger than before.

Janet and Jung experience many growing pains as they grow up with immigrant parents who want to control every aspect of their lives. Although the children are more like young-adults, they still struggle to leave the nest.

Kim's Convenience highlights the many trials and tribulations that come with immmigrating to a new country. We also see the pain of first generation immigrants trying to balance oldd ways and new ways of living.

We also see the joy that comes with immigration as Appa has created a better life for his children.​

It is important to recognize the significance of learning new languages while keeping the old.
